The early years matter. But not equally for everyone.

The early years matter. But not equally for everyone. Why access to early childhood education isn’t enough, and what research tells us needs to change
If you want to understand the future of a country, don’t start with its universities. Start with its kindergartens, crèches and nurseries.

Glittery teachers – resources used and continuous effort

The sustained work on syllable segmentation in the preparatory grade, the constant revisiting of concepts, the attention given to reading and text comprehension, the management of simultaneous differentiated activities within the same classroom, and much more—all of these reflect the quiet perseverance of teachers—that invisible work which, over time, makes a difference.

In Mrs. Aurelia Boian’s class: a child’s progress in the ‘Glittery Schools’ program

In the “Glittery Schools” program this school year, we are working with 89 teachers who teach preparatory class students across 10 counties in the country, especially in vulnerable communities. They are dedicated educators who demonstrate every day that every gesture of support and every effort, no matter how small, can have a significant impact on children’s educational journey.

„Teacher, it feels so good to get a B! Thank you, teacher!”

Through patience, dedication, and the continuous adaptation of classroom activities to students’ needs, teacher Oana Artene Piloiu from Tilișca Secondary School in Sibiu County succeeded in transforming the school experience of a child who had lost confidence in his own abilities. By using interactive methods, differentiated instruction, and activities based on collaboration and peer support, she created a safe and motivating environment in which every progress was noticed and valued. The impact on the student was profound: from fear and frustration to courage, engagement, and the joy of success. Achieving a “B” grade became for the child not just a better academic result, but the moment when he truly began to believe that he could succeed.
